Paul Halajian’s practice is focused on advising clients on the leasing, development and operation of oil and gas properties and preparing drilling and division order title opinions covering fee, state, federal and Indian lands.  He also counsels clients on issues relating to contaminated properties and compliance with federal environmental statutes such as the Resource Conservation Recovery Act, Clean Air Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act, Clean Water Act (CWA), and their state analogs.

Prior to joining Abadie & Schill, Paul was a shareholder at Modrall, Sperling, Roehl, Harris & Sisk, P.A. located in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he handled a wide range of transactional work and litigation with a primary focus on environmental, oil and gas, land use, public lands, rights-of-way and real estate issues.  Paul also worked as an assistant general counsel for the New Mexico Environment Department and as an assistant corporation counsel for the Environmental Law Division of the New York City Law Department.

Paul received his bachelor’s degree in Resource Ecology and Management from the University of Michigan.  In 1998, he graduated from New York Law School where he was a member of the Journal of Human Rights.  He is admitted to practice law in Colorado, New Mexico and New York.  In addition, he is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the District of New Mexico, and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
